Magic: Sword Magic

Description: Sword Magic is a type of holder magic focused around the use of, as the name gives away, swords. They act as mediums for the user to perform a multitude of spells on the enemy. Attacks can be based around elements, or even to change the sword's properties. Many different blades can be used with Sword Magic, from rapiers to longswords to katanas.
Strengths: Although not the most versatile magic type out there, Sword Magic is still useful. As stated before, users can have attacks based around certain elements, such as fire being used to enhance striking power and leaving a burn, or wind spells that can go past the reach of their blade. Due to this, the magic is proficient in close to mid range combat. Even without the use of advanced spells or attacks, swords are incredibly dangerous, and if used properly can turn any battle in the wielder's favor. However, with elemental strikes come spells that can even alter the properties of a blade. For example, one might be able to increase the length of their sword and reach more distance.
Weaknesses: With being a holder type magic, Sword Magic has the same weaknesses. For one, if the user loses their weapon, they are done for. That is, unless they can still fight without a blade in their possession. Until the user's sword returns to them, they have to rely on their natural abilities. Sword Magic also offers no defensive properties whatsoever. Users are constantly left vulnerable and have to pay close attention in any and all battles, as to not be struck down by a crippling blow they cannot defend against. Long range combat is another problem, for Sword Magic is mostly used in close to mid range.
