Mission Updates! Empty Mission Updates!

The new Buddy GM system! We had a poll about it earlier. If you missed out then… TOO BAD! You’re probably benefiting from it anyway. As of today (April 5, 2014) We have multiple ways to tackle those pesky missions! All you have to do is say which you would like, and if doing a GM’ed mission: tell us who is GM’ing your mission, if it is a fellow member.

1. Word Count – This is if you don’t want you missions GM’ed by someone. You can bring any amount of buddies along that agree to come with you, and each of you will have to reach the word count for the type of mission. It’s essentially either solo or cooperative storywriting. Remember: If you post solo you have to wait half an hour in between each separate post. Bringing a buddy along negates this!

2. GM’ed Missions – If you want to mix things up and have someone else play the antagonists and helpers on your mission, opt for this choice. You can either have a staff member GM (though they may refuse if they don’t have the ability to GM for you at the moment), or you may get someone else in the community to GM for you!

Member GM’ing

If you want to GM a mission for someone, all you have to do is get permission! You can even post under the character account of your choice in order to get the exp from your efforts of posting and helping someone make their mission more fun. Once you have permission, state in the first line of your first post in the mission that you will be GM’ing rather than controlling your own character. You'll even gain the exp for completing the mission, just like the participants do!

The other note is, if you’re GM’ing, don’t troll. Missions are there to make things fun for the characters involved, not to beat them into submission (unless they tell you they want to fail a mission for some reason). So make things interesting, but remember the ultimate goal is probably for the person to win and get the money.

One last update!

Failed missions can give you just as much experience as missions won. We learn more from our failures than our successes, or so they say. So! If you fail a mission, you’ll get full exp just like if you had won. We’ll even OOC’ly hand you the jewels so you don’t feel gyped for taking one for the team in the name of character development.
