Escorting [Mission] Empty Escorting [Mission]

Post by Charlotte Mon Jul 28, 2014 12:12 pm

Charlotte right brow twitched in annoyance as she watched the magic council guards scramble around in their room trying to hide all the beer bottles and R rated magazines under a large pile of bed sheets and used clothes that could clearly use some washing. She was just going to check up on them and tell them to go on a mission she just picked up. It was a simple job that even they could have done but she wasn’t expecting something like this. Five minutes ago, Charlotte just finished yelling their ear off on how the fools were slacking off and that they weren’t getting paid for nothing. She threw some beer bottles out along with some magazines while she roared at them about keeping their room clean and not drinking in the middle of the day where they actually should be working.

As they bowed and apologized to her in silence, Charlotte simply turned around to hurry out of the pig stay with a piece of paper in her hands. ‘Those pigs are getting way too cozy just because there is no war’ she grimaced as she walked out of the building and towards the city where she was supposed to meet this Gregory person who would give her more details on the mission.

She fixed her uniform’s tie as her red boots made tapping noises against the concrete below, making her way towards the part of the town where the market was located at. She had no clue on how to spot this guy except for a small description of how he looks which made her wonder if the guy couldn’t get at least a simple picture of himself up along with the very small piece of paper which could hardly pass as an official request for help. It seemed to be written in a hurry which explained why she wasn’t able to recognize almost all of the letters he used.

Bored amber eyes looked up from the piece of paper to look around the market, hoping to spot some man with brown hair and brown eyes. She turned around when she felt light tapping on her shoulder and came face to face with a man in his late forties looking at her with a curious and calculating expression. “The council sent a girl to do my job?” he asked with a sneer as Charlotte narrowed her eyes at him. She laughed it off while she fumed in inside though as she had a reputation to keep up. “Yes, I‘m sorry about that but I was only one free to do this job.,” she laughed nervously as she asked him for more details on what he was expecting from her.

He gave her a general run down on the situation pointing to some old looking documents that were apparently very important for him and his business. People were out to get it, from what she could tell and that is exactly why he had asked for the council’s help. He was also so very concerned about his company that he was hoping for the council to send some very strong member like his brother to do his job to which she raise an eyebrow to with an amused smile. This old geezer thought he can get Kai out on field for something like this that was nothing more than child’s play to him and her? Well, he expected way too much.

After appeasing him with some smooth words, Charlotte moved on to escorting him to his home at the other side of the town. The deafening silence that befell them was lifted by Charlotte herself as she attempted to talk with him about his company to which, surprising the raven haired girl, the man talked as if his life would end the next second. She could tell that his company was his life, from his words and from the way he clutched the documents to his chest.

A distinct sound of footsteps behind her caught Charlotte’s attention as she looked back to find two to three thugs following them with a pretty big grin on their face. “What?” she asked them as they moved forward, reaching out to grab Gregory by his shirt. They didn’t realize Charlotte was there till she slapped their hands away with her lightning whip. “I’m standing right here, you idiots,” she called out annoyed as she swung it once at them, hitting one of them on their stomach, sending him down with a small groan. They didn’t give up and came at them with some wire like things coming out of their finger tips. She knocked them away with the whips before wrapping it around one of the thugs, letting him fall down on the ground, clutching the whip trying to get it off. As the other guy charged at her from her right, she elbowed him and kicked him where it hurts the most.

“Stay down,” she commanded as she pulled the whip away from the first thug before swinging it at the second one. The third one that looked rooted to his spot decided to take action as he ran towards her with his magic ready. She had to jump to her left to dodge that one, her whip’s grip on the second thug coming undone. She rolled on the floor to get back to her feet as another whip appeared on her right hand. She used them both at once to hit the remaining two thugs, knocking them down before engaging in hand to hand combat with them which she eventually won of course.

Three minutes after, she was standing in front of Gregory, sweat running down her forehead. “This is it,” she stated as she nodded him to the direction of his house. Gregory looked impressed as he nodded with gratefulness before turning back to walk off, mentally making a note to himself to reward the young girl for her hard work. Meanwhile, Charlotte had contacted some of the guards to take the thugs away. A job well done.
